Cracking the Welding Challenge for Highly Reflective Materials! Hyperline Blue Laser Sets a New Paradigm for High-End Precision Welding
In high-end manufacturing fields such as the "three electrics" of new energy vehicles, AI computing power cooling, high-end connectors, and aerospace, highly reflective metals such as copper and aluminum have become core structural and conductive base materials. However, the industry pain points of poor welding consistency and high defect rates for highly reflective materials have long constrained production lines from improving quality and efficiency. Conventional arc welding and infrared laser welding processes can no longer meet the mass-production standards of "zero defects, high precision, and high efficiency" required by high-end manufacturing. The industrialization of Hyperline's high-power blue semiconductor lasers now provides a reliable, production-ready solution for precision welding of highly reflective materials.
Conventional welding processes have clear shortcomings in high-end mass-production scenarios. Arc welding involves high heat input and a wide heat-affected zone, easily causing workpiece deformation and poor weld consistency, and it is difficult to adapt to automated precision production, resulting in generally low efficiency. Mainstream infrared laser welding, on the other hand, is constrained by its physical characteristics: its absorptivity for copper is only 5%, and most of the energy is lost through reflection. This not only leads to low energy efficiency but also easily causes defects such as welding spatter, porosity, voids, and microcracks, directly compromising product sealing performance and electrical conductivity.
Targeting this core industry bottleneck, Hyperline completed a technology breakthrough backed by a National Key R&D Program and successfully industrialized high-power blue lasers. Leveraging the core advantage of a 445 nm short wavelength, the products overcome the processing barriers of highly reflective materials at the physical level, raising the laser absorptivity of copper to 65% — 13 times that of conventional infrared lasers — thoroughly solving the core problems of insufficient energy absorption and unstable molten pools when working with highly reflective materials.
Compared with conventional processes, Hyperline's blue laser welding produces a stable and controllable molten pool, with no spatter and no residue during welding, and flat, dense weld seams free of internal porosity, greatly improving welding yield and product reliability and fully meeting the stringent quality requirements of high-end manufacturing. Building on this, Hyperline has innovatively developed red-blue hybrid welding technology, adopting a synergistic process of "blue light outer ring for preheating, infrared inner ring for deep penetration" to achieve a performance leap where one plus one is greater than two. It relies on the advantages of blue light to stabilize the molten pool and avoid welding defects, while using infrared lasers to achieve efficient deep penetration, perfectly suited to complex welding conditions such as dissimilar materials, thin-walled precision parts, and thick-walled components.
At present, Built a blue laser product matrix covering the full power range from 250 W to 2000 W, suited to diverse scenarios such as precision micro welding, high-speed thin-sheet welding, laser cladding, and thin-film curing. The products offer strong stability and broad adaptability, can integrate seamlessly with automated mass-production lines, and balance high performance with cost-effectiveness for volume production.
Backed by solid technological and product strength, Hyperline's blue laser welding solutions have been widely applied in high-end intelligent manufacturing across multiple fields. In the new energy sector, they enable precision welding of hairpin motors, battery packs, and busbars; in the AI computing power sector, they are suited to spatter-free welding of liquid cooling plates and high-speed connectors; and they are also deeply applied in scenarios such as aerospace precision components, photovoltaic grid lines, and precision processing of precious metals.
As a benchmark for domestic laser technology innovation, Hyperline's high-power blue lasers have broken through the technical barriers of high-end precision welding, addressing rigid industry pain points through fundamental technological innovation, driving the upgrade of welding processes toward high precision, zero defects, and intelligence, and continuously empowering the high-quality development of the high-end manufacturing industry.
